In the last 24 hours the Guelph Police Service dealt with 247 calls for service

The following information was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Shoplifting arrest
On February 4, 2018, Guelph police were called to a south end department store, where there was a report of a theft. Investigation led to the identity of the male suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On May 2, 2018, members of the High Enforcement Action Team (H.E.A.T.) observed the suspect in the area of Kent Street and arrested him. The 38-year-old Guelph male was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants relevant to charges that included theft under $5,000, breaching his Order of Recognizance, failing to appear in court and breaching his probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
