In the last 24 hours, Guelph Police dealt with 247 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Six counts of breaching a Probation Order
On Oct. 24, 2018, Guelph Police were called to a business on Silvercreek Parkway North in regard to shoplifter.

After speaking with the loss prevention officer, Guelph Police learned the male (allegedly) left the store with almost $200 worth of items. When approached by the LPO, (it is alleged that) the male kicked the LPO in the chest, and struck him in the face. The male was brought under control by the LPO until police arrived. The LPO did not require medical attention.

Guelph Police continued with the arrest and charged a 19-year-old Guelph male with theft under $5,000, assault, utter death threats, breaching an OIC Undertaking, and six counts of breaching his Probation Order. The male is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25, 2018.
