On Sept. 8, 2016 at 1:02 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle in the area of Cardigan Street and Woolwich Street driving erratically. A traffic stop was initiated but the male driver failed to pullover.

Stolen car

On Sept. 8, 2016 at 1:02 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle in the area of Cardigan Street and Woolwich Street driving erratically. A traffic stop was initiated but the male driver failed to pullover.  The car finally stopped at Ontario Street and Arthur Street and the driver was arrested. Investigation discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from a West Acres Drive home.

The 21-year-old Guelph man has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, flight from police, possession of stolen property over $5,000, breach of recognizance and three counts of breach of probation. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive wrong way on one way street, red light – fail to stop and driving while under suspension. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 8, 2016.

Break and Enter

A break and enter to a classroom belonging to the Upper Grand District School Board had been entered through an exterior window on September 3, 2016 and a theft occurred. On September 7, 2016 the person responsible was arrested.

A 15-year-old Guelph male has been charged with break/enter/theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 8, 2016.

Unwanted person call

On Sept. 8, 2016 at 12:46 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a motel on Woolwich Street for an unwanted person call. Investigation discovered that the man the motel wanted removed was breaching release conditions and he was arrested.

A 37-year-old man with no fixed address has been charged with four counts of breach of undertaking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 8, 2016.

In the area of Watson Parkway/Eastview Road from 3:27 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - 2 tickets issued.
