After receiving anonymous information about an impaired person about to get behind the wheel, police stopped a vehicle as it pulled out from a north-end business parking lot on Monday afternoon.
In a news release, police say the driver failed a roadside breath/alcohol test and the result was confirmed by formal testing at the station.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a week.
A 73-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving.
Police say the vehicle was parked in a business lot across the street from the accused’s home.
