Traffic stop leads to arrest

At approximately 12:53 a.m. this morning patrol officers observed a 2010 Honda Civic backing out of a field on College Avenue and stopped the vehicle to investigate.

It was learned that the driver was in breach of a court-imposed curfew and he was arrested. 

Further investigation lead to discovery of a stolen bicycle, and drugs believed to be crystal methamphetamine and oxycodone inside the car. The passenger of the vehicle was also arrested.

The 44-year-old driver from Guelph is charged with possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of recognizance,

The other man, a 21-year-old from Guelph, is charged with two counts of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and fail to comply with probation. Both were held in custody to appear in bail court today.
