On Nov. 18, 2017 at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 20 between Sideroad 20 and County 124.
Officers arrived and found a black Ford pick-up truck on a lawn with a hydro pole across the road.
While speaking with the driver of the pick-up officers believed he was impaired by alcohol.
Twenty-two-year-old Robert McTavish of Centre Wellington has been charged with care or control while impaired and care and control over 80. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 15, 2017.
