In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 194 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Recycling bin fire
On April 23, 2018 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Guelph Police were called to an address on Shelldale Crescent where there was a report of a fire. The culprit(s) lit contents of a recycling bin on fire. The fire was contained and no injuries were reported.

Break and enter investigations
On April 23, 2018 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a residential address on King Street where there was a report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a garage overnight and stole an electronic device. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Cst J. Fraser at 519-824-1212 at ext. 7228. On April 23, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a residential address on King Street where there was a report of a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a garage overnight and stole multiple items. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Cst A. Anderson at 519-824-1212 at ext. 7282. Theft - arrest
On April 23, 2018 at approximately 4:15 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a grocery store on Paisley Road where there was a report of a theft. A 29-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000. He was given a June 1, 2018 court date.
