Fraud Alert

Guelph Police would like to make the public aware of a scam that is targeting senior citizens.  You may get a call stating one of two things, either a family member has been in a terrible accident and you are required to wire money right away or a family member has been incarcerated and you need to wire bail money right away.

It is highly recommended that you take the time to confirm the story. You can do this by contacting another family member. You can ask the person on the phone further questions, like what hospital is the person in or what police service arrested the family member. You can then make attempts at confirming the facts with the institution.
