Guelph Police responded to 245 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Attempted residential break-in
Some time over night on Feb. 2, 2020, an unknown person attempted to enter a residence located near the intersection of London Road West and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph. No entry was gained, however the shed of a neighbouring residence was entered but nothing was taken.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to lock your sheds.

Suspicious male near Exhibition Park
On Feb. 3, 2020 at 3:30 a.m., an adult male began ringing the doorbell of a residence located near the intersection of Kathleen Street and London Road West in the City of Guelph. When the homeowner answered the door, the male said “wrong house” and left.

The male is described as:
    •    Caucasian
    •    5’6
    •    Wearing a blue, white and red winter jacket with hood up and face concealed
    •    Wearing a safety vest over his jacket
    •    Appeared wet as if he had been outside a long period of time

At 6:30 a.m., a homeowner of a residence in the same area heard someone jiggling her front door handle and attempt to open the lock box. The homeowner answer the door and an adult male apologized and left. It is unknown if this was the same above mentioned male.
