Guelph Police responded to 202 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Vehicle refuses to stop for police
On Jan. 27, 2020 at 9:15 p.m., police observed a vehicle driving near the intersection of Gordon Street and Stone Road East in the City of Guelph with no lights on. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to stop and fled the area at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was not initiated due to concerns for public safety.

The vehicle is described as a black two-door older model Honda Civic or Honda Prelude.

Yamaha dirt bike taken during commercial break-in
Some time over night on Jan. 23, 2020, the storage shed of a business located near the intersection of Watson Road South and York Road in the City of Guelph was entered. A Yamaha 125cc dirt bike valued at $800 and $200 worth of scrap wire were taken.

Multiple items taken during residential break-in
On Jan. 28, 2020 at 1:32 p.m., a resident notified the Guelph Police Service that they just returned home to discover that their residence located near the intersection of Fife Road and Wellington Street West in the City of Guelph had been entered. The front door was damaged and a window was broken. Multiple items were taken and there was lots of damage throughout the residence.
