Guelph Police were involved in 202 incidents over the past 24 hours

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

High speed on Hanlon
On March 4, 2019 at 5:23 p.m., Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on the Hanlon Expressway by Speedvale Avenue West. The male driver had been driving 124 km/hr in the marked 70 km/hr zone.

The 40-year-old man from Brussels, Ont. has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving and speeding. His motor vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

Break and enter
On March 4, 2019, the Guelph Police went to a Speedvale Avenue West business for a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the locked compound sometime overnight and stole wire.

Theft from cars
On March 4, 2019 the Guelph Police received four reports of theft from cars. The locations were two on Kipling Avenue and two on Marilyn Drive.

This crime is easily avoidable. Please lock your cars and do not leave and belongings visible. If you do become a victim of this crime you can report it through the Guelph Police online reporting portal
