911 hang-up leads to lengthy incident

Over the dinner hour on Mar. 6, police attended to a Stephanie Street home to check on the wellbeing of its occupants after police were unable to make contact with anyone after a 911 call was received. When police arrived, people were seen running upstairs and appeared to avoiding police. They would not come to the door or respond to police requests to come to the door.

Due to the unknown circumstances in the house, police contained the residence and initiated contact with a man inside the house. Through ongoing negotiation, the man came out of the house and presented himself to police. Investigation revealed that the man was in breach of several conditions related to previous charges. The 35-year-old Guelph man was arrested and charged with four counts of breach of recognizance. He was held in custody to appear in bail court later today.
