Stealing from vehicle, calls for service

The following is a news release issued by the Guelph Police Service:

Earlier this morning at approximately 3:15 a.m.,  a patrol officer saw a male exiting a vehicle parked in a Carrington Place driveway who had property that had been taken from inside the vehicle.  Investigation confirmed that the male did not live there and had no permission to be in the vehicle. The male was arrested and also found to be in possession of break-in tools and a quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The 23-year-old from Guelph was charged with trespass by night, possession of break-in instruments, theft under $5000 and drug possession. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in bail court today.  
 

Over the course of the day on Oct. 30, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 243 calls for service.
