Two charged after stolen vehicle recovered

Police search recovered other stolen property and a small amount of fentanyl

Some time overnight on the evening of Sept. 24, 2020, a white 2005 Toyota Tacoma was taken from the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Grange Road and Starwood Drive in the City of Guelph. A spare key was left in the glove compartment. The vehicle contained numerous items including:
    •    Canadian military regimental headdress
    •    Small pocket knife
    •    Cheques in the registered owner’s name

On Sept. 25 just before 9:23 a.m., police located the vehicle parked near the intersection of Victoria Road South and Clair Road East with two adult males in the vicinity. They were subsequently arrested.

Search incident to arrest revealed:
    •    Keys to the vehicle
    •    Canadian military regimental headdress
    •    Small pocket knife
    •    Cheques in the registered owner’s name
    •    Debit card not in the name of either male
    •    A small quantity of fentanyl

A 25-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Possession of stolen property over $5,000
    •    Possession Of Schedule I drug (fentanyl)
    •    Failure to comply with probation order

A 21-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Possession of stolen credit card
    •    Possession of stolen property under $5,000
    •    Failure to comply with probation order x3

They will both appear in court on Jan. 22, 2021.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to always lock your vehicles and to never leave keys or valuables inside your vehicles.
