Two charged with racing

Driver's license and vehicles seized for seven days

TOWN of ERIN - On Monday, Aug. 21, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Trafalgar Road North, near Ballinafad. The officer observed a male driving a 2006 Mazda 6 at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

18-year-old Brandon Paul Holmes of Ballinafad has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Oct. 4, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

TOWNSHIP of GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at approximately 6 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 7, west of the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2009 Subaru Impreza at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

22-year-old Graeme John Dadson of Kitchener has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Oct. 4, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
