Two face charges following camping trip in stolen vehicle

On Wednesday Sept. 12, 2018 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were contacted by the Warden of the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA), at the Elora Gorge. It was reported that staff believed that they had observed a male that they knew to be a fugitive camping at the park in a stolen car.

OPP attended and arrested the male as well located meth, heroin, crack, marijuana and the stolen sedan. A female was also arrested at the scene with the male.

27-year-old Denis David Donald Hepburn of Guelph has been charged with possession of marijuana, heroin, crack-cocaine, and methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). He was also charged with failing to comply with two probation orders and a recognizance order as well as possession of stolen property over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held for bail.

23-year-old Ashley Stokman of Guelph/Eramosa has been charged with possession of marijuana, heroin, crack-cocaine, and methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). She was also charged with possession of stolen property over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 12, 2018.
