Following a two-month investigation, Guelph police have arrested a Brampton man for sexual assault.
Police say that on an early morning in July, a woman was in the downtown area and accepted a ride from a man. Subsequently she was reportedly sexually assaulted by the man, which she reported to police.
A detailed investigation took place over the next two months by the Guelph Police Service’s Special Victims Unit which led to the identity of the suspect. On Tuesday a 20-year-old Brampton male was arrested and charged with sexual assault. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court Nov. 4.
