Two teens arrested after fake firearm found by police

Both charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Two Guelph teens were arrested Sunday after police located an imitation firearm in their vehicle.

Guelph police report around 4:53 p.m., police located two teenage males with a motor vehicle parked in a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South.

Police had previously received information that they pair were allegedly in possession of a firearm.

At 4:55 p.m., police located a black imitation firearm tucked behind the rear driver side tire of the motor vehicle. The males were subsequently arrested.

A search incident to arrest revealed a spring assisted knife.

A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- two counts of failure to comply with undertaking
