Vehicle found on its roof on the sidewalk. Driver charged with impaired

On Sept. 1, 2017 at 2:53 a.m., the Guelph Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision where a car had rolled over in the area of Victoria Road North and Dakota Drive. The vehicle sustained significant damage and was resting on its roof on the sidewalk.

The driver was treated for minor injuries on scene and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. The driver was transported to the Guelph Police station and provided samples of his breath that were over the legal limit. The driver was further charged with drive over 80mgs and other alcohol related novice driving offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

It is believed that there were three to four teenagers who witness the incident and were not present when police arrived. Police are looking to speak with these witnesses. Zachary Sprague, 20 years of age from Guelph, was later released to appear in court on Sept. 15, 2017.
