Vehicle impounded following traffic complaint

On Nov. 6, 2017 at approximately 9:20 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a traffic complaint south bound on County Road 19 towards Fergus.

The vehicle and driver were located at an address on James Street, Fergus. Police spoke with the driver and believed her to be impaired by alcohol.  

A 55-year-old Fergus female was charged with fail to provide sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on Dec. 15, 2017.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, you can call police at 911 to report it.
