On April 24, 2019, the Guelph Police received the report of an incident that occurred on April 23, 2019. The 60-year-old male victim advises that he was in an Eramosa Road plaza parking lot when he was approached by a man and a young child. The man offered to sell a watch and gold chain stating he needed the money for his child. The victim agreed and paid a sum of money. The suspect placed the watch on the victim’s wrist and the chain around his neck. The victim later realized his own watch and chain were now missing.

At this time, police do not have a description of the suspect but he was seen leaving in a black SUV.
