Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is providing name of the deceased in a fatal motor vehicle collision at Wellington Road 32 and Fife Road. Hema Priya Loganathan, 38 years old of Cambridge, was pronounced deceased at scene.
On Oct. 16, 2022 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. It was reported that a collision had occurred between a sedan and a pickup truck on Wellington Road 32 at Fife Road west of Guelph. The Wellington County OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services, Waterloo Regional Paramedic Services and local fire departments attended the scene.
One occupant of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The three other occupants of the sedan were transported to a trauma centre.
The Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team. The roadway was closed for several hours while reconstructionists were on scene.
