Wanted Guelph man arrested in theft investigation

On Jan. 23, 2019 at 6:52 p.m., Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway North business to investigate the report of a theft. The male responsible had (allegedly) taken property located outside of the store. Police located the male and he was arrested. This male then provided police a name that was discovered to be false. Once his real name was checked it was determined that there was a warrant in existence for his arrest.

The 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and obstruct police. This is on top of the warrant charges of obstruct police, theft under $5,000 and escape lawful custody. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
