Break and enter - update On April 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a construction site on Delhi Street to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the site sometime overnight and stole tools.

On April 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a construction site on Delhi Street to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the site sometime overnight and stole tools.

On April 19, 2016 the investigation led to the male responsible as well as the recovery of the stolen tools. At 2:57 p.m. the man was located and arrested on Carden Street.

A 41-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation and breach of recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 20, 2016.

Impaired driving

On April 19, 2016 at 3:58 p.m., the Guelph Police received the complaint of a possible impaired driver on Clair Road. The vehicle and driver were located on Colonial Drive and a traffic stop was conducted. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Daljit Sidhu, 38 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension. He will appear in court on May 6, 2016.

Fail to provide breath sample

On April 20, 2016 at 12 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a vehicle being driven on Gordon Street at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on Vaughan Street. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He refused to take this test and was arrested.

Sadman Ahmed, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with fail to provide breath sample. He will appear in court on May 10, 2016.

Theft from cars

On April 19, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Elsley Court and Koch Drive.
