Guelph Police Service dealt with 228 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Transportation fraud - arrest
On April 23, 2019 at 9:22 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an Inkerman Street location to assist a cab driver with a passenger refusing to pay. Investigation discovered that the female had no means to pay for this fare and she was arrested.

The 34-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with transportation fraud. She will appear in court on June 4, 2019.

Break and enter
On April 23, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went a Moore Avenue residence for a break and enter. The garage was entered through the side door. The resident was home and heard their door open chime. The resident believing it was family yelled out, but then when checked, the person who entered had left. No theft is reported.
