On January 5, 2017 Guelph police responded to break and enters to homes in the south end of the city.

Arrest in south end break-ins

On Jan. 5, 2017 Guelph police responded to break and enters to homes in the south end of the city. As a result of those investigations, the complainants provided lists of property that had been stolen during the break and enters.

Approximately three weeks after the break and enters, one complainant learned that cheques stolen from their home had been deposited. Investigation revealed that a 27-year-old Hamilton woman had been in possession of two stolen cheques and convinced another person to deposit the cheques. 

Joeline Frost Briand has been charged with possession of stolen property, uttering a forged document and fraud under $5,000. She is to appear in Guelph court on Apr. 4, 2017.

Break and enter 

At approximately 2 a.m. on Feb. 21, an unknown male gained entry to a Glasgow Street business by smashing a window out. Once inside, the male took a large quantity of money and left through the same window he had entered.
