Indecent act on City Transit bus On May 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. the Guelph Police were called to Stone Road to assist Guelph Transit. They reported that a male was on the bus and had pulled his pants down and was exposing himself.

On May 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. the Guelph Police were called to Stone Road to assist Guelph Transit. They reported that a male was on the bus and had pulled his pants down and was exposing himself. Police arrested the man and the subsequent search discovered a small quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine.

A 26-year-old Guelph man has been charged with indecent act, possession of a controlled substance and three counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on May 5, 2016.

Break and enter - firearm discharged - update

On March 23, 2016, at approximated 3:40 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to a residence on the Applewood Crescent in regards to a check the premises complaint. Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) broke into the residence and stole a number of items. The homeowners were present at the time of the break and enter.  It was subsequently determined that a firearm was discharged during the incident; however, there are no injuries as a result.  

Police investigation has determined that the same person responsible for this break and enter was also responsible for a fire set at this same Applewood Crescent home on January 29, 2016. On May 3, 2016 he was arrested.

A 44-year-old St. Catherines man has been charged with arson – disregard for human life, break and enter to commit theft, use firearm in commission of offence, careless use of firearm, weapons dangerous, discharging a firearm – recklessness and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 4, 2016.

Break and enter

On May 3, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Grandridge Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a bathroom window sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. There is no report of theft in this incident.

Theft from cars

On May 2, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Hardy Street and Grange Street.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Disturbance at bar

On May 4, 2016 at 1 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an establishment on Scottsdale Drive to assist with two intoxicated males. The males had been removed from the bar but tried to regain entry. One male broke the pain of glass on the door in trying to get back in. The male responsible for breaking the glass was located and arrested.

A 22-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with mischief under $5,000.
