Guelph Police responded to 198 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

September speeding enforcement in Guelph
From Sept. 1 to 30, 2020, 289 speeding tickets were issued in the City of Guelph. Last month (August 2020) a total of 319 speeding tickets were issued.

The area with the most infractions (33) is bordered by Watson Parkway North, Eastview Road, Victoria Road North and York Road.

The two areas with the second most infractions (23) are bordered by Woodlawn Road West, Imperial Road North, Speedvale Avenue West and Wellington Road 32, and Hanlon Parkway, Wellington Street West, Fife Road, Whitelaw Road and Paisley Road.

The area with the fourth most infractions (21) is bordered by Edinburgh Road South, College Avenue West, Water Street and Gordon Street. The area with the fifth most infractions (17) is bordered by Victoria Road South, College Avenue, Edinburgh Road South and Stone Road.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to slow down to help ensure everyone arrives to their destination safely.

Residential break-in
Some time between 6 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2020, a residence located near the intersection of Whitelaw Road and Fife Road in the City of Guelph was entered. Entry was gained through an open garage door and then using blunt force to enter a locked door leading into the residence. The residence was rummaged through, however nothing was taken.
