On Sept. 26, 2019 at approx. 9:05 a.m., a 14-year-old male student at a south end school asked two 14-year-old male students if they wanted to see something and they all entered a male washroom.

While inside, the accused took a paring knife from his pocket and held it up to both youths in a threatening manner. Both victims left the washroom immediately. No injuries resulted from this incident.

A 14-year-old Guelph youth was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of weapons dangerous as a result. The accused was released with a future court date of Nov. 6, 2019, with conditions not to have any communication with the two victims.

The Guelph Police service reminds students that it is never acceptable to bring a weapon to school. It endangers your life and the safety and wellbeing of all of those around you.
