Youth charged after break-and-enters at Mount Forest business

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH – On March 27, 2021 at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm at a business on Main Street South in Mount Forest.   

Upon arrival, police discovered an individual had gained entry to the business. No property appeared to be missing as the suspect(s) fled when the alarm sounded.

On March 28, 2021 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Wellington County OPP received a report of another break and enter to a business on Main Street South in Mount Forest.   

It was believed that an individual gained entry and pulled open drawers. The property owner believed the break-in occurred sometime overnight.  

A 17-year-old youth from North Perth has been charged with:

  • Break and enter - Commit an indictable offence; and
  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.  

They will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Youth Court in Guelph at a later date to answer to the charges.
