PALMERSTON — The project to renovate the kitchen in the Palmerston and District Community Centre is moving forward as the contract to supply, deliver and install kitchen equipment as well as supplies has been awarded.

Minto council awarded the project to S.T.O.P. Restaurant Supply for $142,348.

The project to renovate the arena kitchen was in the “approved capital projects list” meant for 2022.

Relevant drawings were made and in the beginning of November the project went to request for tender, which was later closed on Nov. 30.

S.T.O.P. Restaurant Supply offered to do the project at $142,348, Nella Cutlery Toronto Inc. at $149,750 and Russell Food Equipment Limited at $183,895.

The total cost that the town expects to spend on the overall project is $175,000.

Other aspects of the job that S.T.O.P. Restaurant Supply will not be covering are “demolition, flooring, ceiling, painting, dishwasher, and point of connection for gas, electrical and plumbing.” Those tasks will have to be done by either town staff or separate contractors.
