Around 2.5 km of Concession Rd 7 will be paved between Concession Roads 1 and 2

About 2.5 km of Concession Road 7, between Concession Roads 1 and 2 in Puslinch, is set to be upgraded from gravel to hard-surfaced.

Staff considered a number of gravel thoroughfares for improvements, but ultimately determined only Concession Rd 7 met the criteria, including traffic count and monthly maintenance, laid out in the township's asset management plan. Council approved staff recommendation at its most recent meeting.

Construction on the upgrade will start in 2022.

The stretch of road in question sees an average daily car count of 525.

The total estimated cost of the upgrade is $287,525, although the township will save money on maintenance.

Grading, supply of gravel and dust suppression currently costs the township about $20,000 per year for that section of Concession Rd 7, staff said in a report.

The report recommends a hard surface should also be installed at the intersection of Calfass Road and Concession Road 7 for approximately 75 metres heading east on Calfass as part of the project.
