Mount Forest art gallery to celebrate local talent at reception Friday

The event will feature work from Harriston-based stunt double-turned-photographer, Steve Wilsher

MOUNT FOREST – A local art gallery is hosting its first focal artist reception to celebrate homegrown talent this Friday.

Located above the Hybrid Hair and Detox Spa on Main Street in Mount Forest, HHDS Gallery owners Chris and Erin Kiers said the event is intended to help create and expand the art and culture community in Mount Forest.

Originally from Cardiff, South Wales, the featured artist Steve Wilsher is a black-and-white photographer based in Harriston who works as a stunt double in the movie and television industry.

According to Wilsher's IMDB, he is known for his stunts in the television series, Dark Matter in 2015 and Rabbit Hole in 2023, which stars Kiefer Sutherland.

One of the HHDS Gallery's first focal artist exhibits, the open house will take place at the gallery on May 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the exhibit will remain on display for the rest of the month.
