Arrest made in October carjacking

Police still looking for second suspect in Oct. 28 incident

Guelph Police have arrested one of two men they were looking for in connection with the armed robbery and motor vehicle theft last month.

Police say that on Oct. 28 at 12:40 a.m., they responded to an armed robbery and theft of motor vehicle incident near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and Honey Crescent.

Through investigation, it was learned that two suspects were involved in this incident, and police were ultimately able to identify both of them.

On Monday a 19-year-old-Guelph man was arrested and charged with:

- Robbery with a firearm

- Motor vehicle theft

- Weapons dangerous

- Carry concealed weapon

- Possession of property obtained by crime

- Breach probation

- Breach weapons prohibition.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
