Driver airlifted to trauma centre after crash at Eramosa Road and Metcalfe Street

On the 6th of June, 2019 at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Guelph Police Service responded to a personal injury motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Eramosa Road and Metcalfe Street. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were believed to be write-offs. Both drivers were conscious at the scene, and were transported to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance. Once at the hospital, a female driver in her 60s collapsed and it was discovered that she had sustained internal bleeding as a result of the crash. Once stabilized, the female was airlifted to a trauma centre for further treatment.

If there are any witnesses to the collision, who have not already spoken to police, they are encouraged to contact the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit at 519-824-1212 ext. 7514 and leave their contact information. 

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Police are looking for witnesses to a motor vehicle collision that occurred at Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road south at 1 p.m., on the 6th of June 2019. A gold Mercedes SUV was travelling eastbound on Edinburgh Road turning south on to Gordon Street. A grey Volkswagen GTI was also southbound on Gordon Street and drove into the Mercedes.
