Driver clocked at more than 60 km/h over speed limit

On Nov. 9, 2020 at approximately 11:55 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a grey sedan travelling northbound at speed that appeared to be above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.

As a result, Dwayne Leshern Miller, 33 years old of Scarborough, has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021.

The defendant's vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
