Guelph man faces more than a dozen charges, including three counts of prohibited driving

A Guelph man faces more than a dozen charges after he was seen this week driving while prohibited.

Approximately 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Guelph police were on patrol in the area of Imperial Road North when they saw the man driving and knew him to be bound by several prohibitions. Officers followed the vehicle until it was parked in the downtown area and took the driver into custody.

During a search incident to arrest police recovered suspected stolen property including mail, identification and a cellphone, as well as a small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Investigation revealed the male was also on bail with conditions he remain in his residence and not operate a motor vehicle.

A 35-year-old Guelph man faces charges including three counts of driving while prohibited, four counts of driving while suspended, four counts of possessing stolen property and three counts of failing to comply with a bail order. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court May 24.
