Guelph woman charged after her friend is left in stitches

The accused was asked to leave a gathering and allegedly pulled the hair and bit the fingers of the host

A Guelph woman has been charged with assault after allegedly biting the hand of her friend in a dispute.

Guelph Police Service said the incident occurred Friday a 9 p.m. when a woman was with several friends at her residence near the intersection of Imperial Road South and Paisley Road in Guelph.

The woman became involved in a dispute with one of the friends and asked her to leave. The friend then allegedly grabbed the woman by the hair, initiated a physical altercation and bit the fingers of the woman's right hand.

The woman was transported to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance where she received multiple stiches.

On Oct. 25, at 5:50 p.m., the friend turned herself in to the Guelph Police Service station and she was arrested.

A 23-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with assault cause bodily harm.

She will appear in court on Jan. 26.
