Hanlon Expressway R.I.D.E. check nabs two for impaired driving

Both drivers will appear in court on May 17

On Saturday, April 13, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Hanlon Expressway in the City of Guelph, Ont.

A grey sedan entered the R.I.D.E check and while speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Charged is Graham Andrew Illsley, 30-years-old of Guelph, with impaired operation - 80mg plus of alcohol per 100mL of blood. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 17, 2019.

A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Charged is Vitalis Muzira, 23-years-old of Cambridge, with impaired operation - 80mg plus of alcohol per 100mL of blood. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 17, 2019.

TOWN OF MINTO - On Saturday, April 13, 2019 at approximately 11:30 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a white Sports Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) for a traffic offence on 3rd Line near Palmerston, Ont.

While speaking with the female driver, officers formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Charged is Serina Anne Rassman, 40-years-old of Listowel, with impaired operation - 80mg plus of alcohol per 100mL of blood. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 17, 2019.

On Monday, April 15, 2019 at approximately 8 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Highway 7 east of the City of Guelph, Ont.

A brown Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) entered the R.I.D.E check and while speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Charged is Taylor James Ratchford, 19-years-old of Acton, with Impaired Operation - 80mg plus of alcohol per 100mL of blood. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 24, 2019.
