Guelph police are looking for the owner of a stolen boat recovered late last month.
Just before 1 p.m. January 26, police attended an address in the area of Edinburgh Road South and Ironwood Road as part of a stolen vehicle investigation.
Officers discovered a 16-foot aluminum fishing boat with a 20-horsepower Yamaha outboard motor. The boat had all of its identification and serial numbers removed. The boat’s trailer also had all its identifying marks removed. The boat has been spray-painted camouflage, but officers believe it was possibly originally blue in colour.
A 32-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000. He will appear in a Guelph court March 22, 2022.
Anyone with information about the boat is asked to call Constable Joshua van Breda at 519-824-1212, ext. 7417, email him at [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
