Man charged with kicking and punching police officers

Alleged assaults started with a well-being call being made by police

On Sunday, Guelph police were called to a Westwood Road residence for a check well-being call. Police located a 31-year-old man and began speaking with him. Police say the man suddenly attacked police, kicking one officer and punching another.

The 31-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of assault police. He was subsequently released with a January court date.
