Guelph Police arrested a 32-year-old Guelph woman on early Tuesday morning after a man was stabbed in the back.
Police say that at at 3:10 a.m. a woman met a man at the corner of Wyndham Street North and Carden Street. An argument ensued and resulted in the female brandishing a knife. The man attempted to run away, however the female caught him and allegedly stabbed him in the back.
The man then fled to a nearby residential building for help and police were called.
At 3:36 a.m. police located the woman downtown and she was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault and weapons dangerous.
She was held in custody pending a bail hearing Tuesday.
The man was transported by ambulance to a Hamilton hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. He is currently in stable condition.
