Michael Hurst's fate now rests in the hands of an eight man, four woman jury at Guelph's Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

The jury began deliberations into the Palmerston man's fate early Monday afternoon after receiving instructions form Judge Cynthia Petersen.

Hurst, 46, stands charged with five counts of sexual assault on two women over a span of three years, from 2017 to 2020.

The accusations range from the touching of women’s buttocks and breasts to oral sex and intercourse, largely happened in Wellington North.
