The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Stolen Motor Vehicle

Guelph Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a south end residence overnight June 26th into the morning of June 27th, 2020. The motor vehicle is described as a Black 2015 Nissan Rogue. It was taken from the driveway.

Break and Enters

  1. Overnight on the 26th of June into the 27th of June 2020, in the area of Woolwich St. and Tiffany St. in the City of Guelph an unknown person entered an unlocked garage and took a 2011 Davinci Tosca T1 bicycle, green in colour. The value of the bicycle is approximately $1,000. 

  2. Overnight on the 26 of June into the 27 of June 2020 an attempted break and enter occurred in the area of Woolwich St. and Tiffany St. in the City of Guelph. The attempted entry was made through a storm window on the side of the residence. No entry was gained.   However, there was damage to the window.

  3. Overnight on the 26th of June into the 27th of June 2020 an attempted break and enter occurred in the area of Tiffany St. and Central St. in the City of Guelph. The attempted entry was through a rear window of the residence. A second attempt at the same residence was made through a storm window. No entry was gained in this incident.

Motor vehicle collision results in impaired driving charges

At approximately 7:26 p.m. on the 27th of June 2020 Police responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision at the intersection of Speedvale Ave and Stevenson St. in the City of Guelph.

As a result of the investigation, one of the drivers, a 56 year Orangeville man, was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood. The male will appear in court on the 6th of October 2020 to answer to the charges.

Indecent act arrest

On June 27, 2020, at approximately 8:24 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a residence in the area of Eramosa Rd. and Stevenson St. in the City of Guelph. A female had been observed striking mailboxes and other items with an umbrella. A concerned citizen asked the female what she was doing. The female then attended to the front door of the citizen’s residence, removed some clothing and exposed herself to this citizen.

The female was placed under arrest for committing an indecent act. The female is scheduled to appear in court on the 20th of October 2020 to answer to the charge.
