ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE

Today at approximately 7:40 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a 911 call from a residence on Highland Road in Fergus, Township of Centre Wellington.
Upon arrival officers located one victim who appeared to be suffering from serious injuries and they were subsequently transported to a local hospital by Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services.
One person was taken into police custody.
Wellington County OPP uniform members along with the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) continue to investigate this incident.
This is an isolated incident and no risk to public safety.
This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available. Expect to see an increased police presence and avoid the area if possible.
