OPP called to car fire in wooded area near Elora

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Aug. 30, 2018 at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Centre Wellington Fire Rescue responded to a car fire off Wellington Road 21, west of Elora.

A Nissan four-door sedan was driven off the roadway and into a wooded area of the Pilkington Outlook of the Grand River Conservation Authority.

No one was injured however the car is considered a total loss. Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

Anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anyone who may have been in the area on the morning of August 30,2018 and saw anything suspicious or has a dash-cam is asked to contact the OPP.
