A Guelph female faces impaired driving and drug charges after she was found allegedly passed out in the driver’s seat of her motor vehicle Friday evening.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., police were called to Starwood Drive and Skinner Drive for a report of a female asleep behind the wheel. The vehicle was not running but the keys were in the ignition. Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service was asked to attend to check on the female, who was unable to stay awake and showed signs of being impaired by a controlled substance.
During a search incident to her arrest, officers located small amounts of crack cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms inside the vehicle.
A 55-year-old Guelph female is charged with operation while impaired by a drug and two counts of possessing a controlled substance. She will appear in a Guelph court July 27.
