A Guelph male was charged with impaired driving by a drug Wednesday after he passed out while driving.

Just after 2 p.m., a female called police after she saw a motor vehicle driving very slowly on Western Avenue. The vehicle crossed the centre line and came to rest on the opposing curb. The witness approached the vehicle and found the driver to be slouched over and unresponsive.

Emergency personnel attended and found the male still unresponsive. Police observed a piece of tinfoil with a burned substance in the centre console of the vehicle.

The male regained consciousness after he was given Narcan by Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service personnel and transported to hospital for treatment.
