On Wednesday, June 14, 2017 members of the Guelph Police service with assistance from the Halton Regional Police and Ministry of Transportation conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection blitz in the south end of Guelph.

Commercial vehicle blitz

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017 members of the Guelph Police service with assistance from the Halton Regional Police and Ministry of Transportation conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection blitz in the south end of Guelph. This initiative was aimed at ensuring safety and performance standards for commercial motor vehicles were being complied with. In total officers conducted inspections of 24 vehicles, 12 of these vehicles were taken out-of-service for safety issues that required repairs. Four vehicles had the licence plates seized and were transferred to Unfit status. A total of 36 charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act during this initiative.

On June 14, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 233 calls for service.
