Two accused of taking more than $900 worth of items from Walmart

Police say the pair paid for a few items at the self checkout

On March 1, 2019 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Guelph Police attended the Walmart located on Woodlawn Road West for the report of a theft in progress. A male and female were observed with a cart full of items (allegedly) leaving the store after only paying for some of the items at the self checkout.

Police located the male outside of the store and the female still inside the store and they were both arrested. Over $900 worth of stolen items were recovered.

William Hornby, 42 years of Arthur, and Courtney Snyder, 34 years of Cambridge were charged with theft under $5,000. They will appear in court on May 7, 2019.
